An Ode to Fall

So remember just last week when the leaves were falling from the trees and there was a beautiful fall crispness in the air? Well, that has now completely passed. I am currently writing this post from my local Starbucks and watching the first snowfall of the season. I guess I should be use to the bipolar weather in Chicago by now, but I'm not and I feel ill prepared for this sudden taste of winter. Just last week, I took these fall inspired pictures with the oh so talented photographer, Brittnee Snodgrass, and I'm so glad! We were able to capture one of the last beautiful fall days that the city will have until next year. So until then, I will be reminiscing on those two great fall weeks that came and went way too fast.

This Zara peacoat is the newest addition to my closet and it is already one of my favorites. I love the structure of the jacket and how it can make you look effortlessly put together without even trying. I am in love with having an effortless look that doesn't take much time putting together in the morning. Anytime it takes me more than 20 minutes to get dressed in the morning, I know that I overthought the look. Keep it simple. The top and pants are both thrifted and probably 50 years old which is why I love them. The pants are by Dianne Gilman and the texture is so luxurious, almost like a silk suede material, but my favorite part of the look are the heels! Slight leopard detailing goes a long way in an outfit and like I said before, leopard is basically a neutral and if done right, doesn't have to overpower your entire look.

I hope that you all are still enjoying the beauty of fall wherever you find yourself. I can't lie, I have already started listening to Christmas music. I know that sounds absurd, but its the only think keeping me sane during midterms. Shoutout to all the grinches around the world who think you should only start being holiday ready a week before Thanksgiving (you all have no spirit). The realization that after this last month of work and school I get to go home and enjoy the holidays with my family is an energy boost. My favorite album right now is the The Best Man Holiday soundtrack and it's been on repeat for two week straight now.

Reminder: Don't forget to check out the "Weekly Inspirations" page for my favorite message of the week! This weeks message is one that I've been meditating on for a week now. It's so good. Also, be on the lookout for a devotional post soon. The Lord has been putting something heavy on my heart that I can't wait to share with you all. I pray you all are doing well!

Make this week count!

With Love,
