My Shinola Detroit

Hello Beautiful People!

I wanted to do a post about a brand that is very near and dear to my heart; Shinola Detroit. For those of you who have never heard of the company, Shinola Detroit is an American brand that is focused on bringing manufacturing back to the Detroit area. Shinola creates jobs for local Detroiter's by teaching them how to build watches, bikes and other products that can be made at scale. All products featured in Shinola retail stores are American made and they pride themselves on the craftsmanship of their work. Originally being from the Metro Detroit area I already possess a natural affinity for brand, plus I am in LOVE with their advertising.

As some of you may know, I have been working with Shinola Detroit for a few months now. I first heard about the company while flipping through Vogue magazine around a year ago. Immediately after seeing the advertisement I knew that I wanted to work with the company in some capacity during the upcoming years, but I didn't know how that would happen. My first thought was to intern with the company last summer while I was back home in Detroit for summer vacation. However, I ended up taking on some other responsibilities last year that drew me away from applying to the internship. Nevertheless, my dreams for working with Shinola were rekindled once I heard they were opening a store in Wicker Park less than ten minutes away from my apartment! My love for the brand has done nothing but increase since working with Shinola and I am proud to be a part of their team. If you are ever in the Wicker Park area of Chicago feel free to stop by the store and say "Hey"!

With Love,
