"I got into fashion design in late October after getting married. I always had an eye for fashion and style but never considered becoming a designer until two years ago when I became a Christian. After getting saved I found it difficult to find clothes that were appropriate to wear but still fashionable. That's when I started designing my own skirts and things to wear to church. At first I didn't take it seriously, it was just a hobby, but then I lost my job and I told myself that I didn’t want to work for anyone else. I wanted to be my own boss. My husband supported me 100% and from then on I sat in front of a sewing machine every day and taught myself how to sew. I started making anything that came to my mind: bow ties, purses, baby clothes, etc. A few months ago I started Koda Designs on Etsy and became a full-time entrepreneurial boss!" - Nicole Smith
